Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre (2023)
Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre
Certainly a fun film, I definitely enjoyed this one, and I don’t understand how it only has a 50% on Rotten Tomatoes. Sure, it’s nothing groundbreaking or super special, but it provides heart-thumping action and plenty of laughs. It has a great mix of comedy and espionage, and they balance well together. The story was also well balanced, and it flowed together so easily. I never really questioned what was going on, which was nice. And like I said, you get a good balance between the suspense and some great comedic relief coming from the cast. Speaking of the cast, everybody does a great job. Hugh Grant and Aubrey Plaza were definitely the standouts to me. It was kind of hard seeing Plaza be somebody besides April Ludgate, but she still channels her inner Janet Snakehole. It was also fun to see Statham in action. The soundtrack was pretty solid, and it DEFINITELY helped the suspensefulness. There were several scenes where my heart was racing, and the buildup/climax of the music really puts you right in the middle of the scene. The use of “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head” was beautiful and poetic, and perfect for the scene it was in. The action scenes were awesome, with great choreography and plenty of thrills. Overall, this movie was pretty awesome, and I enjoyed it. I’d recommend it to everyone who loves action/espionage movies. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
