• I definitely think this movie is overrated. It’s not necessarily bad, but it’s not necessarily great. I thought it started out kinda meh, then towards the middle it picks up a bit, then falls off again. I liked the concept but it gets old after a little bit. I felt like I was seeing the same thing over and over again, which gets borderline boring. The story follows a group of friends who try to outrun and outsmart “it”, so you get the classic team effort kind of thing. Unfortunately, the acting wasn’t amazing, and I just didn’t care for any of the characters. They were all a bit obnoxious. The best character is definitely “it”. I like the way it changes shapes throughout the movie, so you’re constantly guessing who it might be, or where it might be. The score was also good. It helps add suspense and excitement in the fun scenes, though it’s not very noticeable anywhere else. That’s really about all I can think of saying right now. It’s a good movie, just not anything groundbreaking. There’s good parts (which I enjoyed), but also slow bits that feel like filler scenes. I may revisit it again, but it’ll be awhile. I’d probably recommend it to most horror fans.
