Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget (2023)
Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget
Not a sequel that’s needed, but one I actually enjoyed more than the original. I’m not sure why I liked this better, because it’s definitely much dumber. No, not dumb, just silly. It’s a very silly movie. It’s literally centered around talking chickens and the birth of the greatest object ever: the chicken nugget. I thought it was pretty funny. I didn’t physically laugh that much, just the idea about the dawn of the nugget is hilarious. This wasn’t as original as the first one, because it’s the same villain, and close to the same story. Literally instead of escaping a farm, they just break into one. Like I said, it’s not a necessary sequel, but still fun. Most of the characters and chickens all return, with a couple new voice actors. Zachary Levi plays Rocky instead of Mel Gibson, which I’m totally fine with. He did a good job, although Ginger is the star of the movie. It was also cool to see Bella Ramsey in this, especially right after her performance in ‘The Last of Us’. I don’t really have too much more to say, only because it’s similar to the first, so I already feel like I’ve written about it. For a quick summary: the story was funny but nothing new, the characters were the same as the first movie, and the stop motion was spectacular once again. It’s not one I think I’d watch again, but it’s good for a family movie night. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
