Dune (2021)
I enoyed this about a thousand times more the second time. I can't tell you why, I just understood it so much more, and noticed how much I missed the first time. It was also miles better than David Lynch’s version. The story is so compelling, and though it feels familiar at points, it's jam packed with excitement and detail. It'd definitely much better written than the first one. The runtime is a tiny bit long, but the time it takes to go through the plot is necessary. It gives you a chance for the information to mull over in your brain. The easiest high point of the movie was the visuals. The color scheme was very drab but also, in a way, vibrant. The desert look was amazing. The cinematography was ridiculously good, with so much detail packed into every shot. It captured the essence of the characters in a beautiful way. The setting and character/planet designs were super good, distinguishing this movie from other sci-fi’s such as Star Wars or Star Trek. Finally, the score was super pleasing to my ears. Hans Zimmer is just a freaking beast. Overall, this movie is fantastically awesome, and I'm super excited for the sequel. The strong cast all have great performances, and you find yourself getting absorbed in their world. I’d recommend this to all sci-fi fans. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
