Tulsa King (Season 1) (2022)
Tulsa King (Season 1)
This was one of the best shows of 2022. And I seriously mean that. There wasn’t a single episode that I didn’t enjoy, which is usually pretty rare. Although it’s only 9 episodes, there is a tremendous amount of detail put into each one. The story is super well written, which helps make this show so good. Now, some people might think this show is boring, because it might feel a bit cliche. It’s true that there’s a lot of movies and shows based on crime families and illegal businesses. But, this one has a really special and unique feel to it. I positively love how it’s set in the present day, which is what helps give it it’s unique feel. It gives the show a more modern feel, while still containing the classic gangster vibe. I love the story, and it starts out in a great way. It pulls you in immediately, and it keeps you pulled in for each and every episode. I’m not a huge fan of having only one episode released each week, but it gave me something to look forward to each week. I love every single character in this show, even the jerky and mean ones. I would say that the trio of Dwight, Tyson, and Bodhi are one of the best trios ever put on screen. Each person has their own special qualities, and they all add something great to the story. All the characters also help advance each episode, which is awesome. The ending of the first season is a total slap in the face, however. It leaves off in a really unpredictable way, and though disappointed, I’m glad they ended it that way. It makes you both excited and curious on what’s to come in Season 2. Overall, I would highly recommend this show to those who love gangster/crime shows, and if you like movies such as Goodfellas and Casino, then you’d really like this series.
