The Haunted Museum: 3 Ring Inferno
I absolutely love Zak Bagans, and he’s one of my favorite people in the whole world, but man did this movie suck. I know he put a lot of time and effort into it, but it just didn’t cut it for me. Although the story is based on fact, and it keeps you interested, it wasn’t executed super well. I really love how it uses the mystery of the actual Hartford circus fire, but honestly the story of the fire is more interesting than the movie itself. I will say that the effects and sets were extremely well done, and the illusion of an entire circus being in a tiny tent was done really well. It reminded me of the tent from Harry Potter. The acting wasn’t super great, and it felt like every other made-for-TV movie there is. The boy who played Sam actually did really good, although everyone else was just kinda flat. Like I said, even though the historical story is good, there isn’t a plot in the movie. It’s all jumbled up and really messy. Very little is explained about Sam and his dad, and there is almost zero backstory to their lives. It also never explains who Amber is, and even though she’s a staple of the movie, she has absolutely no background or anything. There isn’t a discernible point to the movie, and through it was pretty well shot, it just felt thrown together. Overall, I absolutely wouldn’t recommend it, and although most everything else Zak has done has been insanely good, this one was definitely a splat.
