The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016)
The Autopsy of Jane Doe
I promise, whatever you think this movie is, it’s not. Of course, there’s an autopsy, which you knew, but what happens after totally catches me off guard in the best way possible. It’s not the best movie ever, because some of the story is a little dull and I personally thought the conclusion was a little weak. It’s certainly not boring, but the climax just falls short of making the movie complete. I still liked it though. I also thought some of the dialogue was a bit cheesy, and didn’t always feel natural. But those are my only complaints. I love the pacing of the movie, and how it basically jumps right into everything. And when things start to get weird, it continues at its brisk pace. I also liked how there’s some great emotional moments so you can connect with the characters. That’s all I’ll say about the story, as not to give anything else away. Just know it’s not what you expect. For me, at least. The acting was great too, despite some of the stale dialogue. Both men give good performances. Finally, this is a movie that doesn’t always rely on jumpscares to get to you. Even in the quiet moments, you’re still holding your breath, with no idea what’s about to happen. Overall, this movie was well made with some awesome moments, though the writing could’ve been a tad bit stronger. But I still loved it and had me on the edge of my seat several times. I’d recommend it to all horror/thriller fans. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go check it out now!
