Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015)

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation

  • As the fifth installment of this series, I certainly wasn’t disappointed. The series continues to amaze me, and this movie is so exciting from beginning to end. Out of every movie in this series, Solomon Lane is easily my favorite villain I’ve seen. I don’t know what it is about him, but he just has a presence that is both terrifying and mysterious. His soft spoken voice almost makes him that much creepy, and gives him the perfect aura of an evil man. The story was really good, and like I said in the last movie, I really liked the concept of the IMF having been disbanded, and Ethan and his team being the only ones out there. That basically makes it Ethan vs the world, and it's really exciting to watch their mission progress. I really liked how the CIA were also after Ethan, and much like the third movie, it’s exciting having an agent doing what he thinks is right while being hunted by his own people. It gives such a thrilling experience, as well as keeping you invested in the story. I loved Jeremy Renner in this one as well. He does such a great job, and although I’m not a huge fan of his character, I enjoyed him every second he was on screen. He has the whole secret agent complex about him, and I am totally here for it. The rest of the cast was really great as well, and like I said before, Solomon helps make this movie so great. He and his gang make the perfect antagonist, and I was very impressed by their characters and backstory. The music was extremely good, and it had the old feel that the original movie had. The main theme is, of course, amazing, and the opening of the movie gave me chills. It started with the main theme, although it had a slow buildup to it. The low brass came in, then the drums were added, and the high brass and strings completed the rise and finished the theme strong. It was absolutely amazing, and I loved every second of it. Overall, this was a fantastic movie, and I would most definitely recommend it. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go see it now!
