Aquaman (2018)
Aquaman
As DC’s highest grossing movie of all time, it definitely makes sense why. It’s one of the most visually beautiful movies I’ve ever seen in my life, as well as doing a great job of showing Aquaman’s origin. The story obviously starts off with his younger years, and then immediately jumping into his present day self. I like how the movie doesn’t spend too much time focusing on Arthur’s youth, as it bounces back and forth between the past and present. It also does a great job of showing his rise to being the true king of Atlantis, instead of just starting somewhere midway into his story. I really love all the characters, especially the antagonists. Versatile actor Patrick Wilson, along with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, do an absolutely fantastic job of splitting the villain duo. Ocean Master has such a freaking amazing design, and Black Manta’s suit is a literal chef’s kiss. Jason Momoa is the obvious star of the movie, and I love his grittier and non-traditional look. I usually love the comic accurate looks, which this Aquaman doesn’t always have. However, it works. The rest of the cast is also fantastic, even Amber Turd. All the CGI is absolutely beautiful and gorgeous, which helps make the movie so stunning to watch. All the designs of the different ocean creatures, along with the costumes of the cast, are so unique. The music is also amazing. It provides a great action-y feel to the entire movie, which is what you want. Overall, this movie is extremely well made, with great visuals, awesome fight scenes, and an outstanding cast. I would highly recommend it to all DC fans, even if you’ve never seen any of the DCEU movies. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go see it now!
