Doctor Strange (2016)
Doctor Strange
This movie was such a great visual spectacle, and I loved it. The only time I had ever seen Doctor Strange was in No Way Home, and I really loved his character. So, being able to watch his origin was really fun. I loved seeing his backstory, because I was constantly learning everything about him. I never knew anything about his origin, so everything was new to me. I always love origin stories, and this one definitely doesn’t disappoint. I’m definitely a huge fan of Doctor Strange, and I’m so excited to see more of him in the future. The story in this movie is really great, and watching Stephen having to learn to live with what he’s given is intriguing. There is a great, deep message within this movie, something that some superhero movies fail to have. The plot definitely keeps you invested for almost the entire movie, and there is constantly something exciting always happening. There were definitely a few times where I was a little confused about what was going on, and there were a couple small things that I think could’ve been explained a little better. However, the story was still great. The acting and characters were really great, and I especially loved both Benedict Cumberbatch and Mads Mikkelsen. Mads always plays a great villain, so I was excited when I first saw him in the movie. He brings forward a great evil persona, as well as an awesome design and look. This movie was absolutely amazing when it came to the visuals and effects. The CGI was mind-blowingly good, and I enjoyed every second of the on-screen magic. I had pretty high expectations in regards to the CGI, and I was absolutely blown away. All the effects were so entertaining, as well as sometimes trippy. Several scenes reminded me a lot of Inception, and many moments give you the same vibe that Inception did. Michael Giacchino once again brought forth an absolute banger of a score, as he is quite literally the modern day John Williams. So many scenes were accompanied with phenomenal music, especially the fight scenes. It fits the mood of the movie in a perfect way. Overall, this movie was great, and I’m so excited to see where Strange’s future will lead to. I’m also excited to explore the multiverse with him. I would definitely recommend this movie for Marvel/superhero fans, as well as sci-fi/fantasy fans. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go check it out now!
