The Slaughter Rule (2002)
The Slaughter Rule
The only reason I watched this is to complete my goal of going through my, I mean Ryan Gosling’s, filmography. And let me tell you, this one was hot garbage. I think Ryan brings a decently strong performance, but that’s about one of the only bright spots of the movie. I thought the movie started out solid, and it had me for the first half an hour or so. However, it very quickly went downhill, and stayed down there. The whole thing was basically about a pedo coach who is a creep towards his football team, and it was just weird. There wasn’t any point to the plot, just a bunch of useless drama. It’s probably the first football movie I’ve seen that I dislike. The actual football scenes were somewhat fun, but nothing else was. I honestly don’t want to write too much more about this, because it left a bad taste in my mouth. Sorry Ryan, but the movie sucked. You deserved much better than to be in this.
