Saw VI (2009)
Saw VI
Definitely much better than the previous few Saw movies, I enjoyed this one so much more. The story was way easier to follow along, and though it does rely on the previous movies to continue the story, this movie had its own distinguishable plot. The plot was unique and entertaining, and it throws a spin on the whole survive-or-die thing. The victim in this one makes several choices that involve the lives of others, which is a great twist. He has to choose who lives or dies throughout the hour he has to escape, and once he does, he learns that someone else controls his destiny, and not himself. It’s a really great addition to the story, and it makes you invested in the characters so much more. I also really liked the continued addition of Kramer’s past, and the jumps to and from the different stories is really good. This movie wasn’t as confusing as I expected it to be, because it flows pretty smoothly. Also, the addition of backstory for Amanda helps several other previous events make more sense. You know that she was devoted to Kramer, but you’re not necessarily sure why. In this movie, that gets more cleared up, which was a nice touch. The traps in this movie were also decently interesting, and though not as good as the other movies, they were still pretty good. Overall, the movie was decently good, and though there is a lot to follow with the continuation of Kramer’s life/legacy, it's still fun to watch. Plus, Rodrick is in it. I would probably recommend it, and it’s definitely a Saw movie worth watching.
