Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004)
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy
This movie was absolutely hilarious. It’s definitely a dumb and stupid movie, but that’s what made it so enjoyable. From the very second it started, I knew it was gonna be good. Normally I’m not a huge fan of Will Ferrell, but after seeing this, he’s definitely starting to grow on me. The story is kinda dumb but still makes sense, especially given the time period that this movie is set in. But, like you’d expect, the entire plot is jammed full of hilarious lines and dumb gags. This is one of those movies that essentially constantly throws the comedy in your face, but in this case, I actually enjoyed it. I think it’s one of the funniest dialogues I’ve heard in a movie. I was constantly laughing, and I think I was smiling for 75% of this movie. Every single character was able to perfectly deliver each line, and timing is always important in these movies. Every person provided so many chances to laugh. Ferrell, Carell, Rudd, and Koechner were perfectly cast for their roles. I wouldn’t want anyone else in those roles. I definitely think Carell as Brick Tamland was the best character of the whole movie. He did such a fabulous job of portraying someone who is mentally challenged, but without overstepping it or being obnoxious about it. His lines were frigging amazing, and literally every sentence he spoke was the funniest thing in the whole scene. I also loved the cameos from Seth Rogen, Fred Armisen, Danny Trejo, and Ben Stiller. The rumble scene that several of them were in was awesome, and it made the movie felt like a Mel Brooks movie. The music was also great, and it had some very fun songs and themes. Overall, this movie was doggone funny, and I’d highly recommend it to all comedy lovers. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
