Logan (2017)
Logan
From what I’ve seen, this is usually called one of the best CBM’s of the 2010’s, if not the best. After finishing it, I can certainly understand why. Before I get into the actual movie stuff, I will say one thing. This movie definitely wasn’t disappointing, but I do think it’s a tiny, tiny bit overrated. That’s probably because I got my expectations a little too high. However, I still really liked it. I was expecting a dark, gloomy Wolverine movie, which you kind of get, but there were also some elements that were reminiscent of the classic X-Men movies. The story was really well written, although for me personally, there’s a few miniscule things I would’ve changed. The biggest thing was some of the creative decisions involving the villains, but nothing that drags the movie down. I thought the plot moved smoothly and had good pacing, although it felt a tiny bit long. I think for many scenes it was necessary, just a little long. Hugh Jackman’s return as Logan was monumental, memorable, and straight up awesome. Ever since the first X-Men movie, I fell in love with his portrayal and the character, and seeing this movie dedicated to him was so cool. Obviously there were some other characters that helped move the story and themselves forward, but everytime Hugh was on screen, the spotlight was on him. It’s so cool to say one person plays the same character for years on end, with no casting changes. That’s how you know he kills it. He is Wolverine. He is Logan. Overall, this movie is extremely well made, and although there’s a couple things I would’ve changed, I loved it. I’d highly recommend it to all CBM fans. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
