Mulholland Drive (2001)
Mulholland Drive
I’m so perplexed right now. Once again, David Lynch brings forth a masterpiece that I didn’t understand, yet I feel like I did. After the movie ended, I just kind of sat there and had to search through my brain for some kind of answer to what everything meant. In this particular case, I’m glad I didn’t find an answer. The movie is open to interpretation, and anyone can make of it what they will. But it’s such a beautifully crafted movie that I’m gonna somewhat copy my ‘Eraserhead’ review and make this one extremely short so as to not give anything away. I also have no idea what to write right now, because my head is still reeling with what I just saw. It’s a great story where you can make your own decision as to what happened. All the performances are outstanding, and I love how the characters are written. My only complaint is I don’t think the….intimate scenes….are necessary. That’s literally my only gripe. Besides that, this movie is basically perfect, even if you don’t understand what the heck you just watched. But I totally loved it, and I’d recommend it to all mystery/thriller fans. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
