Saturday Night Fever (1977)
Saturday Night Fever
Despite this movie being such a memorable and iconic movie, I really didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would. For most of the movie, I had trouble paying attention to what was going on and who was doing what. The story was decent, but I wish they could’ve added a little more spice to the plot. One thing I will say is that John Travolta absolutely knocked his role out of the park. He did a great job showing his emotion and what mood he was going through in every scene he was in. He is also such an incredible dancer, and I freaking loved his dance scenes. He was just so smooth with every move he made, and, like they said in the movie, he could almost be considered a modern day Fred Astaire. Accompanying his dance moves was a freaking amazing soundtrack. Every song was really fun and groovy, especially all the ones by the Bee Gees. This is very easily a soundtrack I would listen to just for fun, because it really makes you wanna get up and dance. Overall, the movie was shot extremely well, and the cinematography was really good. I know I wouldn’t watch it again, but it was worth seeing for Travolta’s sick moves. Plus, a bonus point for Tony having a Rocky poster in his room.
