Watchmen: Chapter I (2024)
Watchmen: Chapter I
I’ve been waiting several months for this movie to release, and it was exactly what I thought it would be: colorful yet drabby, entertaining yet traumatic, and just all around awesome. I love the Watchmen comic, I love the motion-comic, and I love Zack Snyder’s adaptation. It’s nice having a fully animated movie, and it’s much like the motion-comic and Snyder’s version combined. And the best part is that this is only part one. There’s still more to come. There’s really not much to say about the story, mostly because I’ve already written about two other Watchmen projects. But it’s extremely comic accurate, so if you’ve seen or read other Watchmen projects, then this is about the same as those. The biggest and obvious standout was the animation. It was so smooth, with GORGEOUS visuals. There were so many great color schemes that were dark and gloomy, but also bright and colorful. It was very good at matching the mood of the scene. The character design is very faithful to the source material, and it literally feels like the comic came to life. The voice acting was incredible, and the characters were great. It’s a very great start to the Watchmen animated duology, and I’m super excited for chapter two. I’d recommend this to all DC/animation fans. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
