Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part One
Despite having only seen one or two movies in DC’s Tomorrowverse, I was very excited for the Crisis on Infinite Earths trilogy to come out. It’s such a great storyline, and it had a popularity increase after the Arrowverse covered it. It’s also based on the comic storyline from the 80’s, which I’ve yet to read, but I’ll get to it soon. That being said, I’m not sure how accurate this movie and its two sequels will be, but based on what I’ve seen so far, it was pretty enjoyable and somewhat easy to follow along. I will admit that it starts out a bit confusing, as it begins with Barry Allen time jumping between different Earths. You’re kind of thrown right into it, and it takes some time to get to steady ground. But once you do, it’s easy to go along with it. The wide collection of characters is awesome, too; some that are very familiar and popular, while there are others that you don’t see often. There are some classic designs along with new designs, and it’s just a nice little character fest for DC fans. The voice cast was good (#JensenForDCUBatman), though sometimes the line deliveries were a little stale. Lastly, the animation was pretty good. It took some getting used to, because it feels both 3D and 2D at the same time, if that makes sense. But I like the bold lines and use of color and classic looks. Overall, this movie has its flaws, but it was still enjoyable for the first entry of this trilogy, and the trilogy carries on this fun storyline in a solid way. I’d probably recommend this to most DC animation fans. This film is officially Berry Approved, so go watch it now!
